Handmade Expressions is an importer of Fair Trade and Green products from India. We have experienced significant growth over the past two years due to consumer demand for handmade, high quality and functional products that are made with care for people and the environment.
Sales of eco-friendly and fairly traded products are growing in the United States as consumers begin to ask where their products are coming from, what types of materials they are made out of and whether their purchases are making a difference in the world. To answer this demand, Handmade Expressions works with artisans in India to develop high quality gifts, home accents, women’s accessories and tree-free stationery products that appeal to the U.S. marketplace.
What is Fair Trade?
Fair Trade is market-based approach to alleviating global poverty and promoting sustainability. It aims to educate and empower disadvantaged producers and connect them to a market, so they too can participate in global trade.
New Product Introductions
This season we are introducing two lines of bags made with organic cotton. One is an unbleached shopping tote bag with a message of Fair Trade and Peace printed on it. The other is a line of messenger bags with hand-appliquéd motifs on them. These motifs include the Peace Sign and the Tree of Life.
We will also introduce eco-friendly gift bags and gift boxes made from recycled cotton rags. The bags and boxes can be embellished with hand embroidery, making them a beautiful green alternative to conventional gift bags.
Finally, we want to let buyers know that we can modify the size, shape and color of most of our products. We can even create an entirely new product as a custom order.
