With San Francisco tea purveyor, Red & Green Company, you can experience for yourself what the Chinese have enjoyed over the centuries. Chongbin Zheng, co-founder of Red & Green Company, grew up in the famous tea regions of Hangzhou, China. He frequently travels back to China to work directly with tea farmers, resulting in the rare and exceptional quality of teas, including a new line of organic teas, offered by Red & Green Company. Teas from Red & Green Company include the high-altitude grown and early-Spring harvests of green, jasmine, oolong, pu-er, black and white. Zheng, who is also an artist, designed the specially developed packaging of sleek, hermetically sealed aluminum canisters, clay jars and bamboo canisters.

Red & Green Company also imports beautifully handmade jade bowls, rosewood vases, rosewood trays including models with jade inlay, and world-famous Yixing teapots, many designed by Zheng and all crafted by Chinese artisans.
Every Yixing teapot bears a chop mark, the “signature” of the artist and a reminder of every teapot’s high quality and craftsmanship. With use, Yixing teapots develop a rich patina enhancing the taste, color and aroma of fine teas. The Red & Green Company employs many designers and potters in the Yixing area. Their collection includes traditional designs and adaptations, as well as original designs of their own. Once they commit to a design, they select the appropriate clay and locate potters who work with that particular clay. The potters are also selected for their quality of craftsmanship. Some pieces even require highly skilled metalsmiths. The final step is to take the ware to kiln masters for firing.
